Movie Eaters
The conversation you have walking out of a theater into the night.
About the project
I co-founded Movie Eaters during the COVID lockdowns as a space that continues the deep conversations you have walking out of a theater into the night.
The three of us at the table: Liad Herman, entrepreneur and obsessive film buff; Arnon Rosenthal, actor and doctoral philosophy student at Tel Aviv University; and me, a filmmaker. Each episode we take a film apart — the craft, the philosophy, the cultural impact. With a lot of laughs.
Six years in, we have 200K listeners, 150+ episodes, 30+ video essays, and 40 sold-out live events at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque with guests like Etgar Keret, Avi Nesher, and Ari Folman. None of that was planned. It happened because people kept showing up and kept bringing more and more friends.
A partnership with Jerusalem Sessions. A regular column in Time Out Tel Aviv. We've covered Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. Officially the most-listened-to cinema podcast in Israel — which still surprises us every time we say it out loud.
